Hal W. Gibson

Mr. Gibson was admitted to the California bar in 2004. He received a Bachelor of Science in Cellular Biology with a Chemistry minor from California State University San Marcos in 1996 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego in 2004, where he was a member of the school's Law Review. In 2003, Mr. Gibson began working as a law clerk with a boutique Intellectual Property firm in San Diego, and in 2004 joined that firm as an attorney. Prior to law school, Mr. Gibson served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry squad leader in the First Battalion, Third Marine Regiment.
Mr. Gibson joined Krause Kalfayan in 2006 and practices primarily in the area of antitrust and unfair competition law with an emphasis on class action lawsuits against energy companies for market manipulation and unfair competition precipitating the 2000-2001 California energy crisis. Mr. Gibson is also a registered Patent Attorney.
Mr. Gibson is the author of "In the Wake of Enzo," published in the University of San Diego Law Review in 2004. The article addresses the Federal Circuit's current application of the written description requirement of 35 U.S.C. section 112, and proposes several modifications to the Court's current practice.
Mr. Gibson is licensed to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of California as well as the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
